Alton Band and Orchestra Builders Meeting Minutes October 23, 2017
MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE:

President Hillery called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm. Minutes from the September meeting were reviewed. No additions or corrections requested. Mike Haynes made the motion to accept, Rose Lammers seconded, and the motion carried.
The financial report was reviewed by treasurer, Cindy Kirbach. Tom Pullen made a motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Vicky Schilling, motion carried.
TEACHER REPORTS:
High School Orchestra - Laura Plummber
5 kids going to IMEA November 18. Will be overnight trip.
Chamber played at the 100 Black Man Ball and have 2 upcoming weddings.
Lovejoy Festival is next Thursday
Fall Orchestra Concert is Tuesday, November 14, 7pm. This is a change from original date on calendar.
Orchestra is working Christmas Wonderland on December 17 and the NHS Trunk or Treat tomorrow night.
High School Band - Alyssa Overmann
October 6 was Senior Night
Attended VallHalla Marching Contest October 7. Came in 2nd overall, Best Percussion and 4th overall in finals.
3 students attending IMEA.
Attended BiState Marching Invitational on 10/14 - Outstanding percussion, drum major, music, 2nd overall in prelims. First place overall in finals.
Attended BOA on October 20 - Played super well. Placed 55 out of 66 bands.
October 24 is the ABOB General Meeting and 8th Grade night.
October 28 is Belleville East Marching Invitational
October 31 - Halloween Parade
November 3 - Bandquet
November 4 - Possibly another football game if team wins first round of state championship.
November 16 is information meeting for next year’s trip which will include, band, orchestra and chorus for the first time.
Middle School Orchestra - Email Report (Sally Pierce)
All of the middle school music groups have the same "concert dress" polo shirt now, they were delivered today. I believe Mr. King will be contacting someone about band shirt fees.
We had 11 kids accepted to the ILMEA festival orchestra, they are busy working on the music in preparation.

Raised $443 from Olga’s night
Waiting to hear from Luciana’s to set date.
Butter braids total sales of $3561, $1424.40 profit.
Tom Evans (cheese and Sausage) $5607 profit
Only dine out night scheduled for fundraising until spring.
